Project 505
Okay ladies and gentlemen, I will loose at least 5 kilos, though I aim to loose 7.
I have exceeded the healthy BMI range. For my height, I ought to weigh only 48 kilos though the last time I had that weight was when I was in school. It would be more reasonable to aim for 50 kilos as that had been my weight some 6 months ago.
Jogging is a Laborious task for me. Attempted a few times and each time, I had muscle aches for the following 2 days. Hence, it must be good I guess.
Abstained from Carbohydrates, Sugar and deep-friend Stuff.
Let's see how fast the result will show.
Project 505 = Aim to Loose 5kg (or 7kg to achieve 50kg)
To Good Health!

We Don't Mind Loosing

I read in the papers about parents crying foul over a Vietnam-born, Singapore citzen boy who wins the rest of his school mates at the track and field all the time.
Quote: from Straits Times
"The boy who created a furore in the athletics scene last year is back - taller, bigger, stronger and faster - and once again, some parents are upset. At the Inter-Primary Track and Field Championships which started last week, Kang Yee Cher, now 10 and at least 5cm taller than last year, clinched two gold medals and broke one record.." end quote
The report went to describe how the boy was being spit at by angry parents and how they accused that his birth certfication was doctored and that he is older than what was stated on his birth cert. That poor boy averted his eye contact with people and the cameras, looks down on the floor, never celebrates his wins. In fact, he was persuaded by some coach to stay on when he wanted to quit the races. Now the Sports School has intervened and offered him to join its school.
Sports Coach brought him to heats at Australia and he is not much bigger then the boys there of the same age. They are averagely similar physique.
"We Don't Mind Loosing,
Just Not By Too Much."
Is this the mentality I see here?
Is there such thing as fair competition?
or Level Ground?
First, he is eligible, he is Singaporean, he competes with is age-group peers.
and we fault him because he wins? or wins all the time?
So shall he quit so that we can then compete with compatiable?
Shall he quit so that we have a chance to win?
I tell you, this is the result of having influx of foreigners migrating here as Singaporeans.
They may be second generation foreigners but their gene is different. Not necessary stronger for all but the stronger traits are the ones we have a "problem" with.
Take for example, I watched the Chinese channel on Chinese acedemic live quiz competition among secondary schools & JC, competing in respective category. Half of the contestants are native Chinese. Their mandarin & knowledge of Chinese itself is POWERFUL, fluent and they rattle on history and literature. It is stimulating to watch but it occured to me that the native Singaporean paled in comparison. Even our good ones who are like the best ones we send out to compete on live TV, we paled big time. The programme host was having a jolly good time mentally stimulating the students with exchanges of questions and quotes now-and-then, and that host is a Shanghai-born Singaporean. (I call this "Shiok-sendiri"- meaning a private-enjoyment that others just don't get it). Do we have a Singapore-bred host that can have the same stimulating exchange? Do we? Do we?
So, again, what do we do?
There is no level ground here.
Again, the students are in their age group, they represent their schools, they are your classmates, but they are far superior than you, in their native language of course.
what about when they surpass you in mathematics, science and other arenas.
what then?
are you gonna cry foul?
it is foul feeling to loose isn't it? of course at some things like the Chinese Language they beat us hands down, but at home ground?
hummmmm........ hummmm....... at home ground? we loose. and we may continue to loose.
And these are just about school and sports.
What about work?
What about business, commerce, emmm,, domestics? what about those?
Think, people think.
The Brainy ones beat us,
The Sporty ones beat us,
The "Domesticated-yes dear" women beat us,
The Hardworking ones beat us,
They beat us at School, at Work, at Home, at the Neighbourhood colllecting "garang-guni" (rag-and-bone man)
They beat us at everything.
What are you gonna do about it?
